As someone who spends most of my time in my apartment working on side projects or classwork, finding a good roommate who is respectful and considerate is a must. During my first year at UCF, I had a roommate who was constantly loud and would play music at all hours of the night. I was able to find a new roommate through Roommate Finder and have had a much better experience since.
How it works
UCF students can sign up for an account with our service using an active @knights.ucf.edu email address. Once you have an account, you can create a profile and fill out a short survey indicating your preferences in a roommate. This will generate your match percentage to other users in our service. The survey is optional, but we recommend filling it out to get the best results.
Now you can explore different profiles with the ability to filter on things you care about the most. If you aren't looking for a roommate, and just need housing, you can go straight to the listing portion of our app.
Once you've found a potential roommate or listing that might be a good fit, you can directly message them through our service without having to reveal your personal phone or email. Then proceed to check out listings with your new potential roommate.
Why it matters
UCF is one of the largest universities in the country, with a student population of over 60,000. Finding a good roommate can be difficult, especially if you're not familiar with the area. Our service aims to make the process of finding a roommate easier and more efficient, especiallly for antisocial people / people who are new to the area.
